Two Women Receive Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership

The Rumple Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership was presented to Alice Salthouse and Cristy McKinney on Sunday, September 17, 2023. This honor is bestowed to women in recognition of outstanding leadership and faithful service at Rumple.

Alice Salthouse has served as Ruling Elder, served on the Fresco committee, Co-Chaired the ‘It Is Time’ capital campaign, organized several mission trips to Haiti coordinating health services and, most recently, to Puerto Rico with Rumple youth. Alice’s heart is so caring that she spends her time with the homeless while giving haircuts and has created a health care program for those less fortunate. She is an active member of Circle 1. And she is committed to her family as Curt’s wife, parent and grandparent to her adoring children and 11 grandchildren. And, importantly to her, Alice is always willing to share her faith with others.

Cristy McKinney has served as Ruling Elder, served on the Mission committee, is very active in Blowing Rock CARES and Food for Families, contributes to working at the Hospitality House with meals, volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and works as a Hospice volunteer. Cristy loves to be active with the Youth at Rumple. She is always ready to go on retreats with the youth, especially to the beach, and on Mission trips.
Cristy’s friends are dear to her and she is always visiting and taking care of those friends, the ladies she has coached throughout the years and their families and her loving family. She is an active member of Circle 5 and currently serves as Co-President of the Blowing Rock Women’s Club that awards scholarships to local students for higher education after high school.

Presbyterian Women meet monthly as Circles to support missions and study the Bible.
Circle 1 meets at 6:00pm the first Monday of each month in the Fellowship Hall, September thru May. The Circle Chair is Adele Dunbar.
Circle 4 meets at 2 pm the second Monday of each month in the Adult Classroom upstairs in the Education Building, April thru December. The contact person is Holly D’Addurno.
Circle 5 meets at 10:30 the first Wednesday of each month in the Adult Classroom upstairs in the Education Building, April thru December. The Circle Chair is Kathy Earley
