Food and Friendship

Part of our commitment to community as one of our four cornerstones means that we look for ways to foster friendship in faith. And we find that’s often best done by sharing a meal together.

Rumple hosts several churchwide gatherings throughout the year, along with organizing smaller group get-togethers.

Churchwide Gatherings

  • Fellowship meals: lunch after church, usually the second Sunday of the month. In December this is our special Christmas covered-dish lunch.
  • Lemonade on the lawn after Sunday services in July.
  • Annual church picnic in August.
  • New Elder reception in January.

Salt Shakers

To encourage church members to get to know each other better, we’ve created a dinner program called Salt Shakers. Groups of 10–14 members meet at each other’s homes for a potluck dinner. We form groups twice a year and meet monthly for five consecutive months. Look for announcements in the bulletin for the next round of Salt Shakers.
