The Elderberry Tree
The Elderberry Tree began in 2011 as an outgrowth of the “Angel Tree” by former Rumple member Susan Wilson and her mother to serve some of the elderly in our community during the Christmas season. Each year since then, Circle 4 has continued this effort, working with local agencies who identify recipient elders. The past several years, we have been able to provide gifts, food gift cards, and other necessities to 20 seniors. Our project is also supported by the Missions committee, several other Circles, and some individuals. Our children’s program makes lovely Christmas cards that are also included with these gifts. This year, we are working with the Project on Aging to identify 20 senior citizens who will benefit from our Elderberry Tree. We are grateful to be involved. We invite Rumple members (and visitors!) to join us in this project of LOVE! You can help by purchasing gift cards to WalMart ($25) or making other financial contributions to Rumple, designated to “Elderberry Tree.” Contributions may be left in the workroom/kitchen at the new Rumple House in a designated basket OR placed in the offering plate on Sundays OR mailed to Rumple. The deadline for contributions/cards is December 3. If you would like to be MORE involved—with purchasing gifts, wrapping, delivering, etc.—please contact Circle 4 member Holly D’Addurno or Kim Kincaid THANK YOU for helping us share the Love of Christ in this very tangible way to elders in our community.
Blessings! Women of Circle 4
