Campus Construction Updates

RUMPLE HOUSE
Rumple House is still nearing completion. The internet cables have been installed and the internet is hooked up from Skybest. A handicap ramp has been installed from the rear of the building and new walkway handrails have been installed in the front. The flooring has been installed and is mostly sanded. As is typical of construction in the area, there has been a delay. We are waiting for the flooring contractor to finish sanding and apply the stain. Once the floors are complete, the plumbing fixtures can be installed and we will seek final approval from the town. Hopefully most of the work will be completed mid September.

EDUCATIONAL BUILDING
ADW Architects have completed their final in-house review of the construction documents and have submitted the drawings to the town for their review and permitting. To recap, this work will include a new hallway through the existing nursery area from the second floor gathering area to the Fellowship Hall, a new Blowing Rock Cares facility, conversion of the existing Fellowship Hall to a youth and children’s area, and a gathering area on the second floor with a nursery and the fresco display. We will be working with the contractor, Terry Lentz, to phase the work so that there is as little disruption to the operation of the church as possible. Construction should start in October.

FELLOWSHIP HALL
As previously mentioned, this project will be the last to begin. ADW Architects will start on the construction documents in the next month or so.
