Confirmation Class
Confirmation is one of the seven sacraments the Presbyterian Church observes and is intended for middle grade youth, generally seventh, eighth, and ninth graders.
Rumple offers a multi-month program for youth who are interested in going through confirmation.
Objectives of Confirmation Class
- Confirmands will explore their personal faith.
- Confirmands will learn what it means to live as a Christian.
- Confirmands will write their own personal faith statement.
For the program, Rumple matches a congregational mentor with each confirmand to walk alongside them during the program, answer questions, and help them polish their faith statements.
At the conclusion of the program, confirmands who would like to join the church participate in an examination by Rumple’s Session discussing their personal statements of faith. Following that examination, the Session votes to accept the confirmands as church members.
This is a joyful occasion for all involved and provides an experience these young church members cherish.
Rumple forms a confirmation class when there are several children who have expressed an interest in participating. If you have a child who is interested in confirmation, please contact the church office.
