Called to Serve: Elder Nominations Open for Class of 2026-2028
The 2025 Nominating Committee invites your suggestions for new Elders who will serve for the next three years, 2026-2028 (Class of 2028) and Nominating Committee members for 2026. Present committee members are Cindy Lentz (Chair), Kim Kincaid, Jenny Derby, Rick Richardson (Elder) and Tres Abermathy.
Recommended persons should be active (but not affiliate) members of Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church who demonstrate faith, dedication, and good judgment.
The Nominating Committee is tasked with nominating four elders (two women and two men, per Rumple’s Manual of Procedures) for a 3-year term and three at large members for the 2026 Nominating Committee.
The current Nominating Committee has begun its prayerful deliberations of selecting nominees willing to serve. Once the committee has its slate of nominees, a congregational meeting for the purpose of electing Elders and Nominating Committee members will be held. The names and bio sketches of the nominees will be shared prior to the congregational meeting. As is allowed in Presbyterian polity, other candidates may be nominated from the floor, as long as the nominating person has secured the permission of the candidate. All active members of Rumple are eligible to vote at the congregational meeting.
Please fill out this Google form with your nominations before the deadline of July 27, 2025. You can also find paper copies in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings or in the Rumple House. You may place your completed form in the offering plate, in the labeled box at the back of the sanctuary, or in the Rumple House.
Current Elders are Jennie Apker, Cindy Lentz, Mike Mayfield, Johnathan Rhyne (Class of 2025); John Calvin, Debbie Clay, Rick Richardson, and Annie Tarbutton (Class of 2026); Hope Squires, Stacey Rex, Bob Baker, and David Hardage (Class of 2027).
