ERIC LUKE’S FAREWELL RECITAL

Event Date

June 4, 2023

Event Time

3:00 pm

Dear friends and members of the Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church community,

It is with a heavy heart full of mixed emotions that I bid farewell to the beloved Rumple congregation after nearly six incredible years. Throughout my time here, I have been overwhelmed by the warmth, love, and sense of community that has embraced me with open arms. The support and encouragement I have received from each of you has been invaluable, and I will forever cherish the memories and music we have created together.

June 11th will be my last Sunday with you all. I invite you to join me in the sanctuary on June 4th at 3 pm for a farewell recital where we can celebrate our shared journey and the music that has brought us together.

This summer I will be accompanying choirs at Governor’s School. GS is a summer program for gifted high schoolers – I attended in 2012, and it inspired a love of learning and a love of thinking about thinking that will be with me throughout my life. I’m excited to give back to the Governor’s School community and to help shape a new batch of talented young minds. GS will also allow me to spend time with my family in central NC, as I will be relocating to New York City at the end of July.

I would like to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude to each member of this extraordinary congregation. Your unwavering support and faith in my abilities have shaped me as a musician and as an individual. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as an accompanist in this remarkable community.

As I venture into this new chapter, I want you to know that this is not a goodbye forever. I will be back to The High Country, and I will always hold a special place in my heart for Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church. May your lives be filled with joy, harmony, and countless blessings.

With love and gratitude,

Eric Luke
